The success of retail industry in Hong Kong is not possible without the innovative leaders behind. The Hong Kong Retail Industry Trade Awards (HKRITA’s) is to recognize their efforts and dedication to the industry.

HKRITA 2017 :

  • Small Business Retailer of the Year
  • Community Retailer Award

Judging:
The judging will be done by the Retail Asia Expo 2017 Advisory Committee members* who carefully select the winners based on their wealth of experience and knowledge. The judges will evaluate each entry of award according to the judging criteria state in the guidelines.

One prize or a trophy will be awarded to each award category and the winners of each award category will be announced at the HKRITAs Award Ceremony at Retail Asia Expo on 13 June 2017. During the ceremony, winners of China Daily Asia Pacific Retail Leadership Award will also be announced.

Eligibility

Open to all retailers who…

  • Have a turnover of more than US$120, 000 a year
  • Own a retail brand with more than 10 stores
  • Have an excellent achievement in the past 12 months
  • Wish to share your great work to the industry and recognize your hardworking team.

Criteria

  1. Describe your company’s target market
  2. What did you do the past 12 months to provide an outstanding consumer experience?
  3. What is your creative campaign and discuss how the success of the campaign was to be determined?
  4. Is the overall objectives were achieved?
  5. Discuss if the budget targets were met and the expected revenue and profit plans

  • Not owned by/ or associate with a larger company
  • Opened for business for more than 12 months
  • Have an excellent achievement in the past 12 months
  • Wish to share your great work to the industry and recognize your hardworking team.

Criteria

  1. Introduce your company’s product or services and target market
  2. Describe your innovative marketing or business strategies and evaluate its successfulness
  3. Discuss how could your retail store design, VM display, promotion campaign layout or any customer experience related set-up that successfully attracted consumers and built brand recognition
  4. What is the difficulty being a small retailer and how did you overcome the problems?

The Retail Asia Expo 2016 Advisory Committee members announced the winners of the Hong Kong Retail Industry Trade Awards (HKRITA’S) and Top 10 eCommerce Websites Awards 2015. These awards serve to recognize the achievements of key retailers and their contribution to the success of Hong Kong’s retail industry.

The list of winning companies and individual are:

HKRITA’S Industry Super Retailer of the Year: Toys “R” Us (Asia) Ltd.

Toys“R”Us is the world’s leading specialist toy and juvenile products retailer. In 2015, Toys“R”Us launched the “Star Wars Force Friday” event as the global launch platform of the latest episode of Star Wars movie merchandise series. Their effective marketing and sales strategies supported the event to generate 483% more regional sales of the Star Wars merchandise.

HKRITA’S Omni-Channel Retailer of the Year: Carrefour China

Carrefour China officially started its O2O business and launched “Carrefour.cn” in 2015. The related app was also launched at the end of the year. Both the website and app provide bilingual content to facilitate both Chinese and International customers to order online. The quick and direct delivery from off-line stores ensures that the products are in good quality. Carrefour online business is now available in Shanghai and Beijing. It will soon roll out to Chengdu and other cities in China.

HKRITA’S Small Business Retailer of the Year: Loom Loop

Loom Loop, a sophisticated womenswear line with unique characteristics incorporating East-meets-West influences, is produced by Hong Kong designers Polly Ho and Andy Wong who are known for the painstakingly long process they use to naturally dye their silks in an old-fashioned style. Their clothing doesn’t follow trends but tries to exude an artistic vibe that is unique to the brand. After opening their shop at PMQ, recently they have gone further by bringing their masterpieces to the US and presented them in the New York Fashion Week.

HKRITA’S Community Retailer of the Year: PizzaExpress

PizzaExpress Hong Kong introduced its first restaurant in 2001. It has brought the famous pizza chain from the UK to HK for the first time. PizzaExpress Hong Kong is determined to ensure that social responsibility lies at the very heart of their business. PizzaExpress Hong Kong has worked closely with local community organisations and has already raised over HKD 6 million for charities in the region.
